Guy Fieri Opens New Times Square Restaurant, Chicken Guy!

The Mayor of Flavortown is expanding his reign to New York City.

Guy Fieri, the Emmy Award-winning TV host and chef, just opened his poultry-focused concept Chicken Guy! in Times Square at 136 W. 42nd St. Because where else would Fieri’s food belong than the brightest, loudest, most chaotic space in Manhattan?

“I’m excited to be bringing Chicken Guy! to Times Square…bright lights, big city, and killer chicken,” Fieri shared. “As they say, New York is the city that never sleeps, so don’t sleep on our real deal chicken tenders, sandwiches and sauces.”

Chicken Guy! already has franchise locations in Florida, Texas, Maryland, Nevada, Pennyslvania, New Jersey and beyond. The most recent expansion opened in California’s Napa Valley, in American Canyon, a few weeks ago, on December 12, 2024.

The menu at Chicken Guy! (yes, the exclamation point is part of the name) is chicken-forward, focused on crispy fried or grilled chicken tenders served in a variety of handhelds and bowls. Think: oversize chicken tender sandwiches (like a pepperoni chicken parm or a buffalo mac and cheese sandwich), overflowing salads, and plenty of sides like fries with Guy’s special fry seasoning, Mac Daddy Mac ‘n Cheese, Fried Pickle Chips, and American Slaw. New and exclusive to the New York Chicken Guy! menu, are a category called BOSS BITES, which includes fried chicken dumplings and the city-inspired chopped cheese and chicken egg rolls served with chipotle ranch.

On the sweet side are hand-spun Flavortown Shakes, in flavors like triple double mint, apple cinnamon cereal, Oreo, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, plus seasonal limited-time shakes.

Inside Chicken Guy!, guests can make themselves at home among the exposed brick and graffiti at booths, high-top communal tables, and casual counters,

And because Times Square needed more screens, a large digital display highlights video clips Fieri’s culinary travels and most epic food adventures.

“We’re thrilled to bring Chicken Guy! to the vibrant heart of NYC where it truly belongs,” said Robert Earl, Fieri’s business partner. “This location is not just about fantastic food; it’s about creating an experience that embodies the excitement of New York while enjoying Guy’s signature chicken and sauces. We can’t wait to welcome everyone.”

Naturally, the restaurant comes with its own mascot, the Sauce Slinger. This vibrant character roams the restaurant with a holster belt loaded with bottles of Chicken Guy!’s signature sauces to help guests get extra saucy. Neat.

Chicken Guy! Isn’t without local competition in the vicinity – Michelin-star chef Christopher Bleidorn’s Bird Box, a fried-chicken restaurant, is nearby on 46th St. Sticky’s, one of the original chicken tender destinations in New York is a few blocks south. And of course, Raising Cane’s, the fried chicken chain made extra famous by social media and beloved by the British vloggers, has a 44th Street location and a Penn Station outpost.

Chicken Guy! is open Mondays from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 12 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 1 a.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
