Coastal flood advisory for Bristol and Plymouth counties until Thursday morning

On Wednesday at 1:46 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory valid from 9 p.m. until Thursday 6 a.m. for Bristol and Plymouth counties.

The weather service says, “Up to one-half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (4.3 to 7.0 feet Mean Lower Low Water).”

“Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected,” adds the weather service. “If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.”
