Day 3 at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells will see the debut of the seeds, including the 2023 and 2024 finalist Daniil Medvedev among other top players. It should be a day packed full of high quality and exciting matches.
ATP Indian Wells Day 3 Predictions
Frances Tiafoe vs Damir Dzumhur
Head-to-head: first meeting
Tiafoe is having a very disappointing year so far, winning the first match and losing the second in every single tournament he has played so far. By that logic, he should win on his debut here against a Dzumhur who is far from his best days despite seemingly having a bit of a ressurgence so far in 2025 and a good win against Bautista Agut in the opening round.
Prediction: Tiafoe in 2
Arthur Fils vs Gabriel Diallo
Head-to-head: Diallo 1-0 Fils
Fils might be the far higher ranked of the two youngsters, but Diallo won when the pair faced last year at the US Open and given Fils’s poor form so far in 2025, an upset could be on the cards again. That said, Diallo has just come through a very tough 2-day battle in the first round and might not exactly be fresh here.

Holger Rune vs Corentin Moutet
Head-to-head: Moutet 2-0 Rune
Moutet has won all of their previous matchups, but they both came in early 2022, when Rune wasn’t a top player yet. That said, Moutet has been playing quite well lately and has the game to cause a lot of problems to Rune. All things considered, though, Rune should have the edge as he looks to finally start contending for big titles consistently.
Prediction: Rune in 2
Daniil Medvedev vs Yunchaokete Bu
Head-to-head: first meeting
Medvedev reached the final here in the past two years, but Indian Wells 2024 is actually the last ATP final that he has reached. He has been struggling for quite a while and might well leave the top 10 soon if he can’t at least have some big runs on hardcourt. He should at least be able to come through this first match.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
