Reservations are being accepted by the Ritz-Carlton Cleveland for a curated tasting of premium bourbons enhanced by a thoughtfully designed menu. The event is set for 1 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 15.
Called Barrels & Bites: A Bourbon Tasting Experience, it will be guided by experts from Lakewood-based Western Reserve Distillers as an interactive journey through bourbon craftsmanship to showcase the unique notes, profile and pairings of each bourbon, a news release for the event states.
Many of the bourbons, to be offered in two flights, sell for $500 and up by the bottle.
Bourbons to be tasted include W.L. Weller Green Label, Blanton’s Original, Western Reserve Distillers 8 Year Single Barrel and Western Reserve Distillers Kentucky Small Batch, in Flight One; and Elmer T. Lee, Weller CYPB, Weller Full Proof, and Western Reserve Distillers 10 Year Barrel Proof, in Flight Two.
Food pairings to be served are Beef Tenderloin Sliders with peach whiskey barbecue sauce, served with Lemon aioli Brussels sprout slaw; Pulled Duck Confit Pretzel Sliders, with crispy onion and apple whiskey barbecue sauce and Kimchi slaw; a cone of Truffle Fries with a truffle lime whiskey aioli; a curated assortment of artisanal cheese; and an indulgent finale of Whiskey Pecan Upside-Down Cake.
