What Jenna Bush Hager Said That Had Her Husband Henry Blushing on TODAY

Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Hager, shared an adorable moment on the fourth hour of TODAY.

While reminiscing about their love story, Jenna made Henry blush when she told the story of the first time they kissed.

“I remember our first kiss. I’m just going to say it,” Jenna said while co-hosting the March 27 episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends with her hubby. “It was to Lil’ Troy, a song we can’t say on TV. Lil’ Troy was a rapper back in the day. We were dancing and all of a sudden, you shot your shot.”

“I mean, well, I don’t think you can say that on the 10 a.m. hour of television, but, I went in for the kiss,” Henry said.

Jenna then chimed in and told Henry that he could say that on TV. The only thing he can’t say is “what happened later,” which made him laugh.

“That didn’t happen,” Henry giggled.

“I guess it just depends how we remember it. You didn’t do the walk of shame out of the White House?” Jenna teased, which made Henry blush. The pair started seeing each other when Jenna’s dad, former President George W. Bush, was in office.

“Honey!” he responded.

Outside of their first kiss, the pair shared other stories from when they were dating, like the time Henry accidentally crashed into a secret service car while driving Jenna around on their second date.

“So, I came to pick you up at your parents’ house,” Henry started.

“Which is also the White House,” Jenna chimed in, sparking laughter in the room.

“We picked you up, and at the time, you had Secret Service detail,” he explained. “So I’m driving an old Bronco, and the gas meter didn’t work anymore, so I didn’t know how full the tank was.”

“I get to a huge intersection with a stoplight, and it’s rush hour, because we’re going to have dinner, and I realized my truck’s running out of gas,” he continued.

Henry explained that he noticed a gas station across the street, so when the light turned green, he “peeled hard to the left” and “blocked three lanes of traffic coming in the opposite direction” to make it on the other side.

His car pulled “just up into the gas station” when he ran out of gas, which made his truck roll backwards into the secret service car right behind him.

“I slammed on the emergency brake and just did a little bumper tap in the back,” he said. “No tax dollars were spent (to fix the car) but we were blocking a lot of traffic.”

“That was hectic. I had never had that experience before,” he added. “Now I know what to do.”
